Binance Partners Franklin Templeton to Launch Tokenized Securities

Markets 2025-09-11 18:23

Global cryptocurrency exchange giant Binance announced on September 10 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Franklin Templeton, one of the world’s largest asset managers overseeing $16 trillion in assets.

The collaboration will focus on compliance-driven tokenization of securities and the joint development of innovative digital asset products.

Bridging Traditional Finance and Blockchain

Franklin Templeton brings decades of expertise in regulated securities and tokenization, while Binance contributes its extensive trading infrastructure and global investor base.

According to Binance’s official blog, the initiative aims to create next-generation digital asset products that enhance market efficiency, transparency, and accessibility, while improving yield opportunities and settlement speed.

Roger Bayston, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Assets at Franklin Templeton, said:

“Our goal is to move tokenization from concept to reality, helping clients achieve scalable efficiencies in payments, collateral management, and portfolio construction.”

Binance confirmed that the first tokenized securities products from the partnership are expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

Growing Institutional Demand Driving the Move

The partnership reflects a growing appetite among institutional investors for blockchain-based financial solutions.

Sandy Kaul, Executive Vice President at Franklin Templeton, highlighted that tokenization is quickly becoming a mainstream financial tool, supported by evolving regulatory frameworks.

Catherine Chen of Binance added that the deal represents a bridge between crypto markets and traditional capital markets.

Franklin Templeton, already active in crypto ETFs, plans to leverage its Benji Technology Platform to accelerate development under this collaboration.

Industry observers note the partnership could pave the way for cross-border solutions, including tokenized bonds and equities—potentially setting a new standard for the future of global capital markets.
