Safety Shot Creates Subsidiary to Manage Solana-Based BONK

Safety Shot (NASDAQ: SHOT), a U.S.-listed company, announced on 11 Sep the creation of a new subsidiary, BONK Holdings, dedicated to managing digital assets tied to the Solana-based meme coin BONK.

Traditional Finance Steps Into Meme Coins

In a landmark move bridging Wall Street and crypto culture, Safety Shot disclosed a $5 million BONK purchase in partnership with FalconX, a major digital asset trading platform.

The company has already accumulated over 228.9 billion BONK tokens at an average price of $0.00002184, giving it ownership of more than 2.5% of BONK’s total circulating supply.

This marks one of the first instances where a Nasdaq-listed firm is making a large-scale, structured investment into a meme coin.

Expanding Into Solana DeFi

BONK Holdings’ strategy goes beyond simple token acquisition. The subsidiary plans to leverage Solana’s DeFi ecosystem through staking, liquidity provision, and yield farming to generate additional returns.

It has also signed a revenue-sharing agreement with the meme coin launchpad letsBONK.fun, securing 10% of its revenue. Those earnings will be used to fund further BONK purchases, creating a self-sustaining growth loop.

Meme Coins Enter a New Phase

While Safety Shot is considered a small-cap company with a market capitalization under $100 million, its entry into the BONK ecosystem underscores the growing maturity of meme coins.

Once dismissed as purely speculative assets, meme coins like BONK are now building utility-driven ecosystems and attracting attention from institutional players. Analysts suggest this could be a turning point, with BONK positioning itself as a next-generation meme coin that blends culture, DeFi innovation, and institutional backing.
