Zcash just reminded everyone that privacy coins are still alive with its massive rally, and now it feels like the old days again, only this time it’s Railgun (RAIL) crypto stealing the spotlight after blasting past its 2022 all-time high in a single candle.
Sure, Zcash’s pump helped spark the move, but this goes deeper. Railgun’s got Vitalik himself as an active user, and the project’s community keeps growing fast. They just rolled out a ZK private multisig wallet, bringing real DeFi privacy and full composability, exactly the kind of thing Vitalik said the space needed.

Vitalik Wanted Privacy Upgrades, Railgun Delivered
During a recent live event in Tokyo, Vitalik Buterin asked the crowd a simple question: Why aren’t people putting more money into privacy projects? Then he answered it himself.
According to Vitalik, there are two big reasons: the tech is still too new and complicated, and most privacy protocols don’t support multi-signature wallets, the kind of multi-factor wallets that have become a security must-have in crypto.’
He said developers can’t really speed up how fast the tech matures, but they can fix the wallet issue. And that’s exactly what Railgun, a privacy protocol that hides wallet balances and transactions, just did.

A few weeks after Vitalik’s comments, the Railgun team revealed that they’ve built a working prototype for a private multi-signature wallet on Ethereum.
Alan Scott, co-founder of the Railgun Project, said the team went through “a lot of brain damage” to make it work, but they pulled it off.
In simple terms, multi-signature wallets split up control of a crypto wallet between multiple users. Instead of one person having all the power, it takes several approvals to move funds. Railgun’s version adds privacy to that setup, so you get both security and anonymity in one package.
Railgun (RAIL) Crypto Price Prediction: Billion is Next?

(TradingView)
This weekly chart shows a massive breakout that completely crushed the 2022 all-time high, confirming a big shift in market structure. At this point, technicals barely matter; the chart’s going to stay wild for a bit before it settles down.
Price jumped over 200% in just one week, flipping that multi-year consolidation zone into solid support around $2.93. Momentum looks parabolic right now, with RSI sitting way up at 86, strong, but due for a short cooldown soon. If price can hold above $3, the next leg up toward $4.90 looks likely, with a possible extension into the $9–$10 range based on the 132% measured move target.
