What Is Plume (PLUME)?

Key Takeaways

  • Plume is a public, EVM-compatible blockchain focused on supporting the tokenization and use of real world assets (RWAs).

  • The platform supports tokenization of a wide range of assets, including real estate, commodities, and newer categories such as GPUs, making them usable within DeFi.

  • PLUME, the network’s native token, is used for transaction fees, staking, governance, and ecosystem-related incentives.

  • The ecosystem includes Plume USD (pUSD), a stablecoin wrapper for USDC, and Plume ETH (pETH), a liquid staking token tied to Ethereum.

Introduction

A growing trend in crypto today is the idea of putting real-world assets (RWAs) on blockchains.  This means creating digital tokens that represent ownership or rights to assets such as real estate, credit, or commodities. Once tokenized, these assets can be traded, borrowed against, or combined with other assets in decentralized finance (DeFi) strategies.

Plume is a blockchain built around this idea and designed to bridge traditional finance and crypto by providing the tools to tokenize, manage, and use RWAs on-chain.

What Is Plume?

Plume is a public, EVM-compatible blockchain that brings real world assets (RWAs) like credit, ETFs, real estate, and commodities on-chain. These assets are represented as digital tokens that mirror their ownership or rights, allowing them to be used across DeFi much like cryptocurrencies. With over 200 protocols already integrated, Plume lets you access new opportunities while interacting in familiar ways.

On Plume, you can:

  • Earn yield from tokenized private credit, ETFs, and treasuries.

  • Borrow liquidity using tokenized real estate or commodities as collateral.

  • Maximize earnings with liquid staking tokens.

  • Invest in vaults that offer diversified, risk-adjusted strategies.

How Plume Works

Plume Portal

The Plume Portal is the entry point to the entire Plume ecosystem. It provides an easy-to-use dashboard where you can bridge tokens, stake assets, swap between tokens, and keep track of your earnings in real time.

It’s also designed to make the experience interactive. You can join referral programs, climb community leaderboards, spin daily for RWA-themed rewards, and complete quests that teach DeFi basics.

The portal includes cross-chain functionality, powered by Plume’s internal bridge (Relay) and supported by external bridge providers. This allows you to bridge and swap assets across multiple blockchains in a single transaction, making capital movement on-chain more efficient.

Plume USD (pUSD)

Plume USD (pUSD) is the stablecoin of the Plume ecosystem and serves as the main currency for payments, trading, and collateral. Each pUSD is backed 1:1 with USDC, which gives it stability and liquidity. Unlike algorithmic stablecoins, pUSD is straightforward and transparent, working as a wrapper of USDC without adding extra risk.

You can mint or redeem pUSD without fees, and its reserves are automatically managed by the Nucleus vault system to make sure there’s always enough backing. While pUSD doesn’t earn yield on its own, the Plume team has plans to introduce optional yield-bearing versions in the future.

Plume ETH (pETH)

Plume ETH (pETH) is a liquid staking derivative of ether. When you mint pETH, your ETH is automatically staked on Ethereum Mainnet, and a yield-bearing token is sent back to Plume in a single step. Rewards are distributed directly to your wallet, so you can earn passively just by holding it. Since the token is yield-bearing by default, it can also be applied across DeFi strategies like lending or as collateral to unlock even more opportunities.

Key Features

Yield vaults

Plume provides a range of specialized vaults that lets you tap into professionally managed strategies. These vaults are designed for different levels of risk and are managed by institutional partners. The listed vaults include:

  • Market-neutral vaults: Combine regulated trades with tokenized treasuries to deliver steady returns that aren’t dependent on market direction, making them suitable for users who prefer consistent outcomes.

  • Diversified liquid vaults: Contain a mix of tokenized assets selected for higher yields while maintaining strong liquidity. The assets are sourced from regulated brokers, funds, and licensed exchanges, ensuring reliability.

  • ETF-based vaults: Provide exposure to senior loans and treasury options through US-listed funds. With monthly settlements, they simplify access to traditional credit strategies in an on-chain format.

These vaults bring real-world financial products into DeFi, allowing you to earn yield on-chain from assets that were once limited to institutional investors.

Compliance

Plume integrates anti-money laundering (AML) screening at the sequencer level, meaning every transfer is checked before tokens are minted. For instance, if a wallet sends USDC from another chain and the funds are flagged as illicit, the transfer is blocked, and no USDC is created on Plume.

The network also works with blockchain analytics providers to monitor sanctions, detect suspicious transactions, and assess network-wide activity. This setup has attracted asset managers and brokers by ensuring that assets circulating on Plume meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

PLUME Token

The PLUME token is the native utility token of the Plume network. It’s used within Plume’s ecosystem for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Gas fees: PLUME is used to pay for transaction fees across the network, covering actions like bridging, swapping, or staking.

  • Staking: Users can delegate PLUME to validators who secure the network. In return, stakers earn PLUME rewards proportional to their contribution. Staked tokens remain owned by the user but are locked during the staking period. Unstaking requires a 21-day waiting period, which helps protect the network from sudden exits and ensures stability.

  • Delegation: PLUME holders can participate in network governance by voting on proposals related to upgrades, ecosystem funding, and protocol parameters. Over time, this process will expand into fully on-chain decision-making.

  • Incentives: PLUME is distributed as rewards for activities such as referrals, quests, and broader community engagement.

Plume (PLUME) on Binance HODLer Airdrops

On August 18, 2025, Binance announced PLUME as the 32nd project on the Binance HODLer Airdrops. Users who subscribed their BNB to Simple Earn and/or On-Chain Yields products from July 24 to 27 were eligible to receive PLUME airdrops. A total of 150 million PLUME tokens were allocated to the program, accounting for 1.50% of the total token supply.

PLUME was listed with the Seed Tag applied, allowing for trading against the USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY pairs.

Closing Thoughts

Plume (PLUME) is a blockchain project dedicated to making real-world assets usable in crypto. With compliance embedded at the protocol level, vault strategies tailored for both retail and institutional users, and tokens like pUSD and pETH expanding its financial toolkit, Plume aims to build a financial system where RWAs can move as easily as cryptocurrencies.
