Zero to One: How EDX has Redefined Crypto Market Structure

At EDX, we have been diligently working over the past three years to create a market structure in crypto that works for all. We continue to advance our mission of commoditizing liquidity, clearing and settlement for all institutions, through a single pipe.

We have delivered the best cost to trade in the most capitally efficient way possible.

Over the past year, we have cleared $35 billion in notional trades and processed over 42 billion orders all while providing liquidity for some of the biggest names in finance that offer crypto. Just to name a few:

  • Robinhood Crypto

  • Fidelity Digital Assets®

  • Citadel Securities

  • Virtu Financial

  • GSR

Each firm gets different value from EDX, whether by accessing our pool of aggregated liquidity, market making in the most capitally efficient way possible or deploying sophisticated trading strategies on our ultra-low latency platform.

If you are ready to simplify your operations, improve your liquidity or begin your crypto journey, contact EDX now.

Our early adopters have proven that our model is superior. Here’s how we do it:

1. We don’t compete with retail brokers:

  • We are solely focused on being part of the crypto market’s financial infrastructure through our exchange and clearinghouse. We will never directly onboard a retail user.

  • Our incentive is to provide the most competitive liquid prices to win non-captive order flows.

2.  Our market quality is so good, our spreads can be negative for retail order flows. We achieve this by:

  • Aggregating liquidity from the world’s best market makers.

  • Allowing market makers to direct quotes specifically to retail brokers, so they can quote tighter and larger sizes.

3.  We are the most capital-efficient exchange:

  • By posting collateral in BTC, ETH, USD or USDC, qualified members can trade on limits up to 6x.

  • EDX runs a once-per-day net settlement – funds only need to be delivered to EDX at time of settlement.

  • EDX allows you to choose your own custodian.

So what’s next?

We’re not done yet. Our focus is on scaling up EDX and our customer’s activity. This means:

  • Additional forms of collateral.

  • 100+ coins by the end of the year.

  • Cross-margin across all EDX  products.

Some of the most sophisticated names in finance are already here. If you’re ready to join them, reach out. Looking forward to working with you and sharing ideas.
