Under the agreement, the two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding and begun formal discussions to establish a long-term collaboration framework.
This marks the first time SBI Ripple Asia has partnered directly with an XRPL-native protocol, representing a significant milestone in expanding institutional-grade financial services within the XRPL ecosystem.
Doppler Finance is developing infrastructure that enables on-chain yield generation on XRPL, with a focus on transparency, regulatory compliance, and the adoption of compliant blockchain-based financial products.
Positioning XRP as a Yield-Bearing Asset
A core objective of the partnership is to transform XRP from a payment-focused digital asset into a yield-generating asset class.
Doppler employs a CeDeFi (Centralized-DeFi hybrid) strategy, combining elements of traditional finance and decentralized finance to deliver yield opportunities while maintaining institutional-level security, risk controls, and regulatory compliance.
As part of the initiative, SBI Digital Markets, which operates under the regulatory framework of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, is expected to provide custody services. This structure is designed to create a secure environment that meets the requirements of institutional investors.
An SBI Ripple Asia spokesperson stated that combining Doppler’s on-chain infrastructure with SBI’s deep expertise across Asian financial markets will help establish a strong foundation for expanding XRP’s real-world use cases.
Institutional-Grade Security and Expansion Into Japan
Rox, Head of Institutional Business at Doppler Finance, emphasized that the partnership demonstrates strong confidence in Doppler’s infrastructure.
He noted that Doppler aims to deliver yield strategies that balance security and scalability by integrating regulated custody, audited reserves, and compliance-focused architecture.
For Doppler, the collaboration also represents a strategic entry into the Japanese market, where institutional demand for compliant digital asset products continues to grow.
Both companies plan to promote deeper integration between traditional financial systems and the on-chain economy, expanding the scope of crypto yield strategies and staking-related use cases.
The partnership further underscores a shared commitment to building robust infrastructure that enables institutional investors to engage with digital assets (especially cryptocurrencies) safely and sustainably, positioning XRPL as a competitive platform for regulated on-chain finance.
