Brevis Launches Pico Prism zkVM, Delivering Real-Time Ethereum Proofs

Brevis has officially launched Pico Prism, a cutting-edge zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) designed to deliver real-time Ethereum proofs at industry-leading speeds and efficiency. The innovation positions Brevis at the forefront of Ethereum scalability and verification technology, achieving performance levels that outpace current zkVM solutions by a wide margin.

According to Brevis, Pico Prism can generate proofs for 99.6% of Ethereum blocks in under 12 seconds, with an average proving time of just 6.9 seconds when powered by 64 NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs. This breakthrough translates to a 71% speed improvement over comparable systems such as SP1 Hypercube while slashing GPU hardware costs by around 50%. With a total setup cost estimated at USD 128,000, Pico Prism offers one of the most cost-efficient high-performance proving systems to date.

Revolutionizing Ethereum proving performance

The development of Pico Prism represents a significant milestone in zero-knowledge proving, one of the foundational technologies for Ethereum’s scalability roadmap. Zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) allow blockchains to verify computations without revealing sensitive data, enabling faster and more private transactions across Layer-1 and Layer-2 ecosystems. Pico Prism’s distributed multi-GPU architecture enables parallelized computation, which dramatically reduces proof generation time while maintaining mathematical soundness and security.

The system’s ability to achieve near real-time proofs—where 96.8% of Ethereum blocks are verified in under 10 seconds—marks a step toward Ethereum’s long-term goal of instant, trust-minimized verification. This performance could also enhance rollup efficiency, improve finality for DeFi protocols, and lower operational costs for decentralized applications relying on verifiable computation.

Industry reactions and strategic implications

Ethereum cofounder Vitalik Buterin praised Brevis’s progress in a recent social media post, stating, “Excited to see @brevis_zk’s Pico Prism entering the ZK-EVM proving arena! An important step forward in ZK-EVM proving speed and diversity.” His endorsement highlights the significance of this technological leap for the Ethereum ecosystem.

Brevis CEO Mo Dong described Pico Prism as the culmination of years of research into scalable, economically viable proving systems. “Our goal was to make high-speed proving practical and accessible, not just for Ethereum but for any blockchain that demands real-time verifiability,” Dong said in a press statement. “Pico Prism brings us closer to that reality.”

Analysts have also noted that Pico Prism’s impact extends beyond speed and cost. Its architecture could make decentralized applications more efficient and reliable while opening new possibilities for on-chain verification, cross-chain communication, and rollup scalability. However, experts caution that rigorous audits, security reviews, and real-world testing will be essential before large-scale deployment.

The launch of Pico Prism underscores Brevis’s growing influence in the zero-knowledge ecosystem. As competition intensifies among zkVM developers, the company’s combination of high performance, lower hardware costs, and real-time proof capabilities may set a new benchmark for Ethereum’s proving standards. With strong community support and technical validation, Brevis is poised to play a key role in shaping the future of scalable, secure blockchain computation.
