Binance launched a built-in messaging feature called Binance Chat on Apr. 15, allowing users to send messages, share content and transfer crypto within the app without switching to external platforms.

The exchange announced the feature from Abu Dhabi, positioning it as part of a broader push toward what the company calls an integrated financial "super app."

Binance Chat lets users add contacts through unique chat IDs, join group discussions, share trade cards and send crypto payments directly inside conversations.

The feature also connects to Binance Square, the platform's social content hub, giving users access to creator-led chatrooms.

Contacts must accept requests before conversations begin, and the company said existing account protections apply to all chat-based interactions. Some features, including group chat creation, are being rolled out gradually and may not be available in all regions immediately.

Jeff Li, VP of Product at Binance, said the goal is to reduce friction in everyday crypto use. "Binance Chat brings communication, community, and crypto transfers closer together in one app experience," Li said.

The move follows a wider industry trend of crypto platforms expanding beyond trading into social and payments features.

Binance has steadily added non-trading tools over the past year, including its Square content platform and expanded peer-to-peer payments, as major exchanges compete to keep users inside their ecosystems.
