Supported by Google, MetaMask, and Coinbase, the protocol aims to provide verifiable identities and performance records for autonomous agents. It introduces a decentralized business registration system and supports pluggable trust models, such as zkML and TEE, tailored to the risk level of tasks. Currently in draft form, ERC-8004 is expected to cultivate a new ecosystem of trust-related services.
