EigenCloud and LayerZero have announced the launch of EigenZero, a decentralized verification network designed to enhance cross-chain message verification. Built on the CryptoEconomic DVN Framework, EigenZero leverages EigenCloud's infrastructure and is supported by $5 million in staked ZRO tokens. The network introduces economic penalties for incorrect or malicious cross-chain messages, employing an 11-day challenge period based on the Optimism verification model. This approach aims to provide robust security guarantees for cross-chain applications by reducing staked assets if errors are confirmed post-verification.
