Philippine digital bank GoTyme has introduced a cryptocurrency service in collaboration with U.S. fintech firm Alpaca. This new feature, integrated into GoTyme's banking app, enables users to buy and store 11 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). Transactions are seamlessly converted from Philippine pesos to U.S. dollars, simplifying the process for GoTyme's 6.5 million customers. The bank, founded in October 2022 by Tyme Group and Gokongwei Group, aims to make crypto purchases accessible without requiring complex technical analysis or multiple applications. As part of its growth strategy, GoTyme plans to expand its services to Vietnam and Indonesia, focusing on scaling operations over immediate profitability.
