U.S. federal prosecutors have intensified charges against crypto promoter Rodney Burton, known as "Bitcoin Rodney," for his alleged involvement in the HyperFund (also known as HyperVerse) crypto Ponzi scheme, which reportedly amassed $1.8 billion. The latest indictment adds charges related to wire fraud, bringing the total to 11 federal counts against Burton. These include conspiracy to commit wire fraud, two counts of wire fraud, seven counts of money laundering, and operating an unlicensed money transmitting business.
