This record-breaking performance was largely driven by Layer 2 solutions like Lighter, which helped maintain efficiency on the main chain. The surge in TPS comes just before the anticipated Fusaka upgrade, scheduled for December 3, which aims to expand data capacity and increase the gas limit to 60 million, potentially reducing costs and enhancing throughput. Data from GrowThePie indicated that Ethereum had already surpassed its previous TPS record of 31,000, reaching 32,950 TPS the day before. The use of zero-knowledge rollups has been instrumental in managing the increased load. The average TPS across all layers has risen to 325, up from 250 at the beginning of the year, reflecting the network's growing capacity and efficiency.
