Circle has announced its acquisition of Interop Labs, the developers behind the cross-chain communication framework Axelar. This strategic move, expected to finalize in early 2026, aims to enhance Circle's Arc blockchain and cross-chain transfer protocol. Despite the acquisition, Axelar's network, foundation, and AXL token will continue to be governed by the community. Meanwhile, Common Prefix will assume responsibility for Interop Labs' ongoing projects.
