Infrared to Launch Native Staking and Dutch Auction in Early 2026

Infrared, the liquidity staking protocol of Berachain, is set to introduce native IR staking functionality in January 2026. This new feature will allow users to stake IR tokens to receive sIR and earn rewards from protocol revenue. Additionally, Infrared will implement a buyback mechanism to reward long-term holders. In the first quarter of 2026, Infrared plans to launch a Dutch auction system, enabling third-party protocols to bid for BGT emission rights using IR tokens. Winning bids will be locked for a year, supporting future protocol development. These initiatives aim to boost economic activity on Berachain and enhance the demand and value of the IR token.
