The cryptocurrency market experienced widespread gains on January 5, with the AI sector leading the charge, posting a 6.44% increase in the past 24 hours, according to SoSoValue data. Notable performers in the AI segment included Virtuals Protocol, which surged 18.22%, Render with a 15.70% rise, and Fartcoin climbing 11.49%. Bitcoin and Ethereum also saw positive movement, with Bitcoin rising 2.37% to surpass $93,000, and Ethereum increasing 2.04% to exceed $3,200. The Meme sector rose 6.23%, driven by Pepe's 13.67% and Bonk's 21.27% gains. The NFT sector increased by 6.17%, highlighted by Pudgy Penguins' 13.63% rise. Other sectors also showed strength, with the PayFi sector up 5.16%, Layer2 rising 4.32%, and DeFi increasing 3.58%. The Layer1 and CeFi sectors posted gains of 2.53% and 2.35%, respectively. The ssiAI, ssiNFT, and ssiMeme indices reflected these trends, rising by 8.37%, 7.58%, and 5.67%, respectively.
