The X account of Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia was hacked and used to promote a cryptocurrency scam involving the $LIBRE token. Hackers impersonated González Urrutia, urging followers to purchase the token, which garnered approximately 190,000 views before the posts were removed. According to the opposition alliance Plataforma Unitaria Democrática, the token experienced a rug pull on the Solana network within hours of its release, with the project team draining all liquidity and absconding with about $34,300.
