The platform also introduced 100 new perpetual contracts, increasing its offerings to 199 tradable perpetual contracts. This expansion marked a pivotal year for Coinbase's derivatives business, highlighted by the introduction of 24/7 trading. In June, open interest in perpetual futures exceeded $1 billion, and by October, the combined open interest in perpetual futures and futures peaked at $4.8 billion. Looking ahead to 2026, Coinbase Markets plans to diversify its product offerings further with new indices, equities, and emerging assets.
