HashKey Exchange, Hong Kong's largest licensed digital asset trading platform, has launched Tether Gold (XAUt) trading, marking the first compliant gold token trading on a licensed exchange in the region. Professional investors can trade XAUt, which represents one troy ounce of LBMA-standard gold, via HashKey's OTC wholesale trading interface, Marketplace. This development allows investors to allocate digital assets into gold without switching platforms, enhancing asset diversification and bridging traditional and digital finance. Michelle Cheng, Director of HashKey Exchange, highlighted the efficiency of trading gold as a digital asset, addressing the challenge of gold's illiquidity. HashKey Exchange, a subsidiary of HashKey Holdings Limited, is committed to compliance and security, holding multiple licenses from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. The exchange ranks 17th on CoinGecko, the highest among licensed virtual asset exchanges in Hong Kong.
