Ethereum 2.0 Deposit Contract Holds Over 60% of Total ETH Supply

Arkham's 2026 Ethereum holdings report reveals that the Ethereum 2.0 deposit contract is the largest holder of ETH, with over 76.3 million ETH valued at approximately $240 billion, representing more than 60% of the total supply. Binance follows with 4.1 million ETH, worth around $13 billion, while BlackRock and Bitmine hold 3.4 million ETH and 2.9 million ETH, respectively. Among individual holders, Rain Lohmus, an Ethereum presale investor, is the largest with 250,000 ETH, although the private key to his wallet is lost. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin holds 240,000 ETH, making him the largest individual holder with accessible addresses. The U.S. government possesses about 60,000 ETH from various asset seizures. The report highlights that exchange addresses dominate the top 20 ETH holders.
