Metaplanet Reports 738% Revenue Growth Despite Crypto Losses

Metaplanet, a Japanese Bitcoin treasury company, announced its 2025 fiscal year results, revealing a significant revenue increase to ¥8.905 billion, up 738% from the previous year. Operating profit also surged by 1,694% to ¥6.287 billion. As of December 31, 2025, Metaplanet's Bitcoin holdings rose dramatically to 35,102 BTC from 1,762 BTC at the end of 2024. Despite these gains, the company reported a recurring profit loss of ¥96.1 billion (approximately -$641 million) and a net profit loss of ¥95 billion (approximately -$633 million), primarily due to unrealized losses on its cryptocurrency holdings amid declining crypto asset prices.
