The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has revised its nonfarm payroll figures for December and January, resulting in a net decrease of 69,000 jobs from previous reports. December's payroll additions were adjusted from an increase of 48,000 to a decrease of 17,000. Meanwhile, January's figures were slightly reduced from an increase of 130,000 to 126,000. These revisions reflect a lower-than-expected growth in employment for the two-month period.
