White House Press Secretary Robert Levitt clarified that the U.S. did not escort any ships, contradicting Wright's initial tweet. Wright further stated that while the U.S. Navy is currently unable to provide escorts in the Strait of Hormuz, it is likely that such measures could be implemented by the end of the month.
