Aave founder Stani Kulechov revealed that a user attempted to purchase AAVE using 50 million USDT through the Aave interface. The transaction, due to its unusually large size, triggered a warning about potential high slippage, which the user acknowledged before proceeding. The trade resulted in the acquisition of only 324 AAVE tokens. Kulechov noted that the transaction was executed after the user confirmed the risk, and the CoW Swap router and integration functioned as designed, though the outcome was suboptimal. In response, the Aave team announced plans to contact the user and refund the $600,000 fee incurred during the transaction. They also intend to explore enhancements to user protection mechanisms to prevent similar issues in the future.
