The Destiny project aims to transform the southern coast of Nevis with developments including villas and medical clinics, covering approximately 2,400 acres. The proposal has sparked controversy, with opposition figures criticizing it as an attempt to influence local authorities. Former government minister Carlisle Powell and Nevis Reform Party member Kelvin Daly have both expressed concerns, labeling the offer as undue pressure and "open bribery." Nevis Prime Minister Mark Brantley has submitted the agreement to the federal government for consideration.
