BlackRock has launched its iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) on Nasdaq, marking a significant development in crypto investing. The ETF allows investors to stake Ether while holding it, offering an approximate 4% annual yield. ETHB debuted with $106.7 million in assets under management, with 80% of its holdings in staked Ether and 20% in liquid Ether. The fund's first-day trading saw 592,804 shares exchanged, raising a volume of $15.5 million. ETHB offers competitive fees, with a sponsor fee of 0.25%, reduced to 0.12% for the first year on assets up to $2.5 billion. The fund is custodied by Coinbase, ensuring security and transparency. ETHB joins BlackRock's crypto lineup alongside the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA), which have attracted significant inflows since 2024. Despite its debut volume trailing Solana staking ETFs, ETHB signals growing mainstream adoption of crypto assets.
