Stratton, previously reticent about her crypto stance, was labeled "strongly opposed to crypto" by the advocacy group Stand With Crypto, while her opponent, Democratic Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, was deemed "strongly supportive of crypto." Krishnamoorthi has a history of supporting crypto-related legislation, including the Genius Act and the Clarity Act. The upcoming 2026 midterm elections will involve all 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats. Blockchain Association CEO Summer Mersinger emphasized the growing political influence of the crypto industry, noting its significant presence among voters holding digital assets.
