Aave has announced plans to implement a new feature called Aave Shield following a significant swap incident. A user exchanged approximately $50.43 million worth of aEthUSDT for about $36,000 of aEthAAVE via CoW Swap on Aave's front end, resulting in a price impact of around 99.9%. Aave clarified that the transaction occurred through a third-party swap protocol and did not affect its core lending protocol. The incident was attributed to executing a large order in a market with low liquidity and confirming a high-risk quote. Aave Shield will aim to prevent swaps with a price impact exceeding 25%.
