Germany to Quadruple AI Computing Power by 2030

Germany has announced a strategy to significantly expand its data center capabilities, aiming to quadruple its AI computing power by 2030. The plan, revealed by the German government, also includes doubling general-purpose data center computing power from 2025 levels. Carsten Schneider, the Minister for Digitalization and National Modernization, emphasized the need to meet the growing demand for data processing fueled by AI, cloud services, and digitalization. The strategy, which includes 28 measures, seeks to position Germany as Europe's leading data center hub with data sovereignty.
