A new report from security platform Immunefi highlights the severe financial impact of cryptocurrency hacks, revealing that token prices drop by an average of 61% within six months post-attack. The report, which analyzed 425 incidents from 2021 to 2025, found that 83.9% of tokens remain below their pre-attack price levels. Between 2024 and 2025, 191 attacks resulted in $4.67 billion in losses, with five major incidents accounting for 62% of these losses. Centralized exchanges were particularly affected, with 20 attacks causing $2.55 billion in damages, representing 55% of the total losses. Immunefi CEO Mitchell Amador emphasized that the repercussions of such exploits extend beyond immediate financial losses, affecting token prices, treasury reserves, team stability, and user trust.
