The UK government has imposed sanctions on the illegal crypto marketplace Xinbi and individuals linked to a Southeast Asian fraud network. This move, announced by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and Home Office, marks the first global sanctions against Xinbi. Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis reported that Xinbi processed over $19.9 billion in transactions from 2021 to 2025, involving money laundering and unlicensed trading. The sanctions also target Legend Innovation Co. and its director Eang Soklim, operators of the "#8 Park" fraud hub in Cambodia, which allegedly employs up to 20,000 trafficked workers. In addition, several properties in London, including a £100 million office building and luxury homes, have been frozen. UK officials aim to dismantle the fraud network's financial infrastructure and encourage international cooperation at the upcoming Illicit Finance Summit in June.
