Hydration Launches Decentralized Stablecoin HOLLAR on Polkadot

Hydration, the leading DeFi protocol on Polkadot by total value locked (TVL), has introduced its native stablecoin, HOLLAR, as of September 22. HOLLAR is a decentralized, over-collateralized stablecoin backed by a diverse basket of cryptocurrencies, including DOT, ETH, and BTC. The stablecoin is integrated with Hydration's suite of trading, lending, and staking products, and is initially capped at 2,000,000 tokens with a 5% annual borrow rate. Dr. Gavin Wood, the creator of Polkadot, commended the launch of HOLLAR, highlighting its decentralized nature and the use of DOT as collateral. This development marks a significant step for Hydration in expanding its DeFi offerings on the Polkadot network.
