Wang Chun, co-founder of F2Pool, has voiced strong opposition to political-style compromises in Bitcoin protocol upgrades. In a recent post, Wang criticized the practice of bundling unpopular provisions into essential upgrades, likening it to U.S. legislative tactics. He specifically opposed BIP-110 and BIP-54, arguing that issues like the Timewarp attack offer no significant advantage to miners and do not necessitate urgent protocol changes. Wang emphasized that improvements in block validation efficiency through libsecp256k1 and hardware advancements negate the need for protocol-level modifications. He also highlighted that the concept of forging confirmed transactions would require breaking Bitcoin's core security, which is not feasible. Among current issues, only the "duplicate transactions" problem might warrant consideration for protocol changes, according to Wang.
