The maturity model categorizes organizations from PQ-Unaware to PQ-Enabled, reflecting their readiness against quantum threats. The migration strategy includes prioritizing risks, inventorying cryptographic assets, and integrating PQC components into live systems. Meta emphasizes the urgency of addressing "store now, decrypt later" attacks, where encrypted data is stored for future decryption by quantum computers. The company recommends adopting NIST-standardized algorithms and hybrid deployment models to enhance security. Meta has already implemented post-quantum encryption across significant parts of its infrastructure, underscoring the pressing need for organizations to begin their migration efforts.
