Umbra has clarified that approximately 349 ETH, valued at around $800,000, were transferred through its protocol during the recent KelpDAO rsETH cross-chain bridge attack. The company refuted earlier claims suggesting a larger volume of funds was involved. Umbra emphasized that its privacy mechanism primarily conceals recipient identities and has limited capability in obscuring the source of funds, with the stolen assets' on-chain paths remaining traceable. The project team is collaborating with security researchers and has switched its official hosted frontend to maintenance mode, while the underlying contracts continue to operate normally.
