Skycity has denied liability and plans to defend the case, which could involve at least NZ$64.5 million in online revenue. Bet365 has contested the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts, while Super Group faces claims involving its CEO and several corporate entities. These actions follow amendments to the Racing Industry Act 2020, which restrict offshore gambling operations, and precede the Online Casino Gambling Bill's implementation. All three companies have expressed interest in obtaining New Zealand licenses, complicating their legal challenges as they seek regulated market access.
