Microsoft Foundry has launched the Managed Agents service in public preview, offering a secure and scalable solution for deploying agents in enterprise environments. The service features isolated, enterprise-grade sandbox environments for each agent session, complete with a persistent file system, identity and governance tools, and support for various orchestration frameworks. Key features include predictable cold start times, zero-cost scaling during idle periods, and automatic session isolation through VM-level isolation. Developers can utilize LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, and other SDKs, deploying with a single click after environment setup via Dockerfile. Additionally, Microsoft introduced Toolbox for tool management and Memory for long-term agent memory, both in preview.
