Marshall Wace has filed a lawsuit against crypto data firm Lukka to block a funding round led by Liberty City Ventures. The lawsuit claims the deal introduces three new classes of preferred stock, undermining Marshall Wace's liquidation preferences and violating its consent rights from a 2022 Series E investment. The Delaware Court of Chancery has temporarily halted the funding process at Marshall Wace's request. The firm stated it proposed amendments and considered participation, but was rejected. Lukka argues the funding does not require Marshall Wace's consent and warns that the pause could impact operations. Despite the legal action, $2.5 million has already been invested.
