A recent study by XRP community researcher ChaCha reveals that Robinhood holds over 10 billion XRP in tagged exchange accounts, making it the largest holder among exchanges. The study identifies 13.26 billion XRP in tagged accounts across 41 platforms, representing about 21% of the 61.6 billion XRP circulating supply. When combined with 16 billion XRP in main exchange wallets, over 47% of the supply is held within exchange environments. The research highlights the use of destination tags on the XRP Ledger, which allow exchanges to manage individual user holdings within shared wallets. Robinhood's significant share of tagged XRP, including a wallet with 3.65 billion XRP, underscores its dominance in this area. Other exchanges like BitFlyer and BitPoint hold much smaller amounts. The findings suggest a substantial portion of XRP is controlled by exchanges, potentially impacting market dynamics if large-scale trades or withdrawals occur.
