A Barcelona court is investigating six former Sevilla FC players for their alleged involvement in the Shirtum crypto project fraud, which reportedly defrauded investors of over €24 million. The criminal complaint accuses the project of selling fake NFTs and manipulating tokens. The players named include Papu Gómez, Lucas Ocampos, Ivan Rakitić, Nico Pareja, Alberto Moreno, and Javier Saviola. Additional figures, Diego Perotti and Marcelo Guedes, are also implicated in promoting the project. Thirteen Spanish investors have filed a lawsuit, claiming total losses. Shirtum was marketed as a platform for digital football collectibles, offering "cinematic NFTs" priced at €450 each. However, these NFTs were allegedly never minted on any blockchain and lacked transferability. Furthermore, approximately €3 million in BNB was collected from investors for app development, but the promised applications were never launched, and the funds remain unaccounted for.
