This classification aims to maintain the court order freezing the funds under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, suggesting the assets are linked to the North Korean state. The case involves North Korea's Lazarus Group, which exploited a cross-chain bridge vulnerability to steal approximately $230 million from Aave. The filing also questions Aave's ability to challenge the freeze order, given its terms that it does not control user assets. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York will hear the case on May 6.
