OpenTrade, a cryptocurrency startup, has successfully raised $17 million in a strategic funding round led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital. The round also saw participation from a16z crypto, AlbionVC, and CMCC Global, bringing OpenTrade's total funding to over $30 million. The company plans to use the new capital to enhance its infrastructure for both permissioned and permissionless systems, including the development of a permissionless protocol layer and the Curation+ vault curation framework. These advancements are aimed at serving fintech companies, neobanks, fund departments, and asset issuers.
