The Rapid Bucket, now generally available, utilizes the Colossus system to achieve over 15 TB/s bandwidth, 20 million requests per second, and sub-millisecond latency, significantly reducing GPU blocking time by 50% and accelerating data loading by 2.5 times. Rapid Cache offers 2.5 TB/s aggregated read throughput without code modifications. These innovations are part of broader updates across Google's storage stack, including automated metadata annotation and AI agent connectivity via MCP, alongside expanded ecosystem capabilities like Google Cloud NetApp Volumes and Filestore for GKE.
