Cloudflare to Cut 20% of Workforce Amid AI Restructuring

Cloudflare has announced a significant workforce reduction, cutting approximately 20% of its employees, equating to over 1,100 jobs. This move is part of a strategic restructuring to integrate AI tools across its operations. CEO Matthew Prince emphasized that the restructuring aims to adapt to the growing role of agent-based AI, with the company's AI usage having increased sixfold in recent months. The cybersecurity firm clarified that the layoffs are not due to employee performance or immediate cost-cutting needs but are focused on redesigning internal processes and roles. Despite the restructuring, Cloudflare projects second-quarter revenue between $664 million and $665 million, slightly below the $665.3 million anticipated by analysts.
