In 2025, following the donation, Reform UK proposed a regulatory framework for the crypto industry, including reducing stamp duty on crypto transactions from 24% to 10% and establishing a national Bitcoin reserve. Harborne's contributions to Reform UK last year totaled £12 million, marking the largest donation by a living individual to a UK political party.
