HKEX IPO Fundraising Jumps 604% in Early 2026

The Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX) reported a significant surge in initial public offering (IPO) fundraising, with a 604% increase in the first four months of 2026, totaling HK$151.4 billion. This growth is accompanied by a 158% rise in new listings, with 49 companies going public compared to 19 in the same period last year. The total market capitalization of the securities market reached HK$4.8 trillion by the end of April 2026, marking a 24% year-over-year increase. Additionally, the average daily turnover for the first four months of 2026 was HK$271.1 billion, up 8% from the previous year, while exchange-traded funds saw a 5% increase in average daily turnover, reaching HK$39.1 billion.
