The U.S. Dollar Index, which tracks the dollar against six major currencies, declined by 0.09% to 99.192 on May 19, according to Finviz data. In forex trading, the euro rose to $1.1637 from $1.1630, while the British pound increased to $1.3411 from $1.3332. The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, reaching 159.01 from 158.68, but weakened against the Swiss franc, falling to 0.7856 from 0.7865. Additionally, the dollar edged up against the Canadian dollar to 1.3749 from 1.3739, and decreased against the Swedish krona to 9.4093 from 9.4374.
