The user had previously lost access after changing their Blockchain.com wallet password. Claude AI identified a backup of an old Bitcoin wallet among university-era files, enabling the user to decrypt the wallet and access their private keys. This breakthrough followed numerous failed attempts, including commercial data recovery services and brute-force attacks.
