The Sui mainnet has resumed normal operations following two outages caused by a software defect. According to an official announcement from Sui Network on May 29, the outages were linked to an interaction issue between the "Address Balances" function and the Gas billing logic introduced in the 1.72 version upgrade. The initial fix was a temporary measure that carried a low-probability risk of further outages. Today, the network experienced a variant of the known issue, leading to another pause in operations. Validators have now deployed a long-term remediation plan, and the network is back to normal. The Sui team plans to release a detailed incident review report to explain the failure and the steps taken to resolve it.
