Backpack has unveiled Backpack Securities, a new platform that integrates traditional US stock brokerage services with on-chain stock tokenization. Users can now buy, hold, and sell real US stocks, benefiting from dividends and corporate actions, while also having the option to convert their holdings into tokenized securities on public blockchains like Solana. This innovative service is facilitated through a partnership with Sunrise, a tokenization protocol within the Solana ecosystem. The platform, founded by the former FTX team and creators of Mad Lads NFT, aims to gradually roll out its brokerage services starting in June, following a successful $17 million Series A funding round in 2024.
